Biba eats: 58 Tour eiffel

58 Tour Eiffel is on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower in Paris .Le cordon bleu organized the dinner there for the whole intermediate pastry and cuisine students so they reserved the whole room. The view was fascinating and just beautiful.  Obviously the food was not that amazing since they had to prepare 200 dishes at the same time. It was like having dinner at a wedding. We had the shrimp with avocado for entree, followed by a piece of lamb, with mashed potatoes and some kind of chocolate mousse dessert with croustillant at the bottom at the end. It was all very average and not worth paying 80 euros or so per person. But again i am not sure if this is their usual performance or if it was just because they had to cut it out to a simple dinner to able to serve right and on time for 150 people.

Biba eats: L'agape Bistrot

The Agape (75 avenue Niel ) opens its doors to all lovers of good food. You will be seduced by the warm room with tones of red and brown. The chef delights you with creative and refined cuisine. Although you expect to have a somewhat fine dining room with pretentious people and waiters, it's actually casual to some etxent, and the waiters are very friendly and helpful. We had the "Carte blanche menu"  which was basically a surprise menu that offered 3 appetizers, 2 main course , one cheese plate and a dessert ( of course in reasonable portions) for 77 euros without the drinks. The first entree was the Salmon tartare, Bavarian watercress, horseradish cream, then we had the Foie gras from the Landes, breaded gingerbread, apple chutney and figs and a veloute. As for the main we had the Duck, parsnip vanilla tube and the fish with mashed vitelotte, followed by a really tasty comte cheese and the dessert. The whole experience was amazing really, at the end of the dinner you don't feel full but satisfied. If you really want it to be worth it, i advice you to reserve through la Fourchette ( greatest invention ) where you would get some kind of discount on the whole meal.

Event of the month: Sirha (lyon)

The Sirha exhibition is one of the most important events in the world of gastronomy and the hotel, restaurants and food sectors. It is the meeting of 12000 chefs worldwide, competing against each other or doing a demonstration. It is the world's largest trade fair of its kind .

You have the World Cup pastry, cheese and national competition course, the Bocuse d'Or which will reward  the best chefs in the world and much more. They do this event every 2 years and it's not to be missed. It was heaven for me, and you get to taste most of their new, innovated products, so it is very interesting to check the latest trends in foods. It was not only about food, but pastry too. A lot of famous chefs were demonstrating their pieces of art in the halls like chocolate sculpture and sugar sculpture. It was so fascinating and just beautiful to see them work. Unfortunately we couldn't see the competition live, this was just reserved for the partners so that was a bit disappointing because i was really looking forward to that. Especially that our pastry chef in Le Cordon Bleu, Chef Nicolas Jordan was actually in the back up team of the french pastry group in the world pastry cup, and they won !!

Biba eats: Schwartz's Deli

Living in Paris definitely makes you crave all the greasy yummy junk food, and no im not talking about mcdo, pizza hut or quicky. So on a sunday morning, it was my mission to find a real ( well as close to real since it's paris) diner. And so we ended up by mistake in Shwartz's. OML (oh my lord) it was FOODGASMIC. I really have no idea if my judgement was clouded by hunger or if i lowered my expectations for the burgers in paris but it was really good. I had the avocado burger,  added some turkey bacon ,  and every bite was a party in my mouth. The meat was so thick, juicy and tender, and the cheese, avocado , turkey bacon just takes it to the next level. Oh and let's not forget the honey mustard that was just so smooth, creamy and delicious. My friend had the beef pastarmi sandwich, it was good but if you're going to schwartz's then  i advise you to only have the burger since that's what they are famour for. A piece of advise, go there early because most of the times you have a long wait. And you will no be seated unless the whole party is there so it's better to go there together. The price average varies between 25 to 30 euros per person. Maybe it's a lot for a burger but it is definitely worth it !

Biba eats: Pinxo

Pinxo (9, rue d'Alger 75001) is a modern and refined restaurant. Products are seasonal and kitchen open on the dining is a guarantee of quality and freshness. Their plates are voluntarily shared in several portions to encourage the sharing and discovery. We had for starters the Shrimp and vegetables "steam" with a broth fragrant herbs and it was not bad,a bit dull for me. As for main course i had the Sauteed prawns "green curry" puffed rice, rice scented coconut milk and it was yummy, you get a bit of the nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked shrimps with a tiny tang and spiciness  of the green curry and the rice just adds a whole new flavor with the coconut milk. As for my friend she had the beef chalosse but unfortuantely she likes her meat well done ( i will never understand that ) so i can't really judge this dish because for me it was like eating plastic food. At the end,  they offered us a complimentary dessert,  the White peach and blanc mange, with bellini foam, it was really refershing and the perfect end to our meal. The whole experience was good, the waiters were impeccable and you really get what you are paying for which is not a lot.
